In the lush folds of central Guatemala, the farmers of Baja Verapaz produce a coffee that speaks soft but leaves a lasting impression. Grown under canopy, handpicked with care, and processed with precision, this is coffee shaped by terrain, tradition, and the slow rhythm of elevation.
Baja Verapaz lies in Guatemala’s central highlands, where elevations stretch from 1,200 to 1,600 m.a.s.l. The region’s microclimate is unique—cool, misty mornings, filtered sunlight, and consistent rain fed by nearby cloud forests. The limestone-rich soil adds to the distinctiveness, giving coffees from this region a particular clarity and mineral-driven sweetness. Farming here is small-scale and often generational, with plots carved into steep slopes and surrounded by native forest. Baja Verapaz delivers a cup that’s compelling: layered florals, citrus brightness, soft stone fruit, and a clean, refined structure.
Every purchase of Guatemalan coffee supports the Kinder Coffee project.
